Devlog 4

During our 4th and final week, our main focus was on merging everyone’s work into the project and cleaning up as many rough edges as we could. We had the majority of the crucial elements of the game finished and just needed to compile them together in the game itself.

Finn had created the last of the 3D models that were crucial to the game, such as some clothes and some more food. After this, I then made a handful more including the ship’s steering wheel as well as a latch that would close off areas of the ship.

Danni put an incredible amount of work by texturing all of my models and then laying out and structuring the actual layout of the ship. She put all the objects in place and cleaned up many small issues we had with the boat.

All throughout week 4 (and the project in general) Kurtis has been instrumental in merging the different parts of the project together and fixing various bugs. It really can’t be understated just how much work they’ve put in doing not only these things, but also being an incredible help to all the other members of the project. We honestly would’ve been lost without them.

Riona did several miscellaneous jobs that needed to be done, including adding sound effects and tweaking the UI and menu.

When we had everything we wanted implemented done, we did a small internal playtest between our group. Overall we were very happy with how well the game played, considering the time we had for it. If we had more time we think it would be great to maybe add more levels, or even more types of enemies.
